This industrial size carabiner combines a wide gate opening and high strength, useful for attaching to rungs on aerial ladders, buckets and industrial rescue or rope access anchors points that are too big for the large rescue carabiners. Made out of 1/2 diameter stock, heat treated steel. The nut locks on the gate to prevent jamming. Gate opening is a full 1.58 inch (40mm).

Designed for rescue, SMC's Large D and X-Large Locking D Carabiners have been proven performers for many years. The gate opening on the Large D's fits over the railings of most stretchers. The gate opening on the X-Large D fits the rungs on most fire service ladders and stretchers that require a larger carabiner than the Large D. Gates and sleeves are constructed of stainless steel for higher strength, smoother operation, and better resistance to corrosion. Sleeves lock on the gate to prevent jamming or vibrating loose.

SMC Safety Lock Carabiner

Features a double-locking gate, requiring two motions to unlock the nut. Required in many industrial applications, the double lock provides added safety should the gate come under pressure from a moving rope.

Our auto-locking steel carabiner provides the safety of a 3-stage auto-locking gate that can be easily opened with one hand. Using an auto-locking carabiner decreases the possibility that the user will forget to lock the gate or that the gate will vibrate unlocked if kept in the right position. The compact size maximizes strength and allows a gate opening wide enough to fit over most litter rails. On the screw-lock models, the nut locks against the gate to prevent jamming.
